Brandon John Lamprey, 23, of Concord, was arrested at 11:09 a.m. on June 17, 2013, on felony theft charge. An officer was called to Sam’s Club for a report of Lamprey, a suspect from another case, being in the store. A store employee met the officer outside and reported that Lamprey was in the store and had selected a number of items, including a $180 Fuji camera. The employee believed he had stolen items previously. While talking with the employee, Lamprey exited the store and the officer caught up with him. The officer asked Lamprey if he exited the store without paying for items and he allegedly admitted he had. He unzipped his jacket and pulled out a camera. Another officer showed up and patted down Lamprey and a straight edge razor was taken out of his pocket, along with a hypodermic needle. The needle was capped, but obviously used, the officer alleged. Since Lamprey was convicted of two theft by deception charges on Nov. 8, 2012, he was charged with a felony. He refused bail and was arraigned on June 18.
