Concord Woman Faces Felony Criminal Liability Charge

Police allege she assisted two men who beat, robbed a blind man.

A homeless woman with an arrest record is facing a felony charge after allegedly assisting in the robbery of a blind man on Feb. 5.

According to an affidavit, were called to North Main Street for a report of a robbery.

The alleged victim, who is blind, reported that earlier in the day, a man had knocked on his apartment door and asked if “Tom” was home. The renter told the man at the door that “no one else was there” and the man left. A few minutes later, a woman, later identified as , started knocking on the door and allegedly asked if he was alone in the apartment. The renter told the woman to stop knocking on his door and leave him alone.

A short time after that, the renter reported that the door to his apartment was kicked in and someone was hitting him. The man told police that while only one person was hitting him, there were two people in the apartment. While being beaten, the alleged assailant was asking the blind man for money.

At one point, the man stopped hitting the blind man and ordered someone named “Josh” to come and stand over him.

The police later learned that one of the suspects could potentially be , who lived in a nearby apartment.

Police spoke with White in the hallway and he allegedly stated that Sutton had been in the man’s apartment earlier in the day. White allegedly stated that he stayed in the hallway during the beating. White reportedly told police that Sutton was looking for money.

Other officers began to look into the matter and found Sutton, allegedly with blood on his clothes.

During conversations with all involved, the police were able to determine that White was in the hall and there was another person with Sutton during the alleged beating.

A few days later, one officer learned from another that after being arrested on a bench warrant, allegedly admitted that she was with Sutton and White during the break-in and robbery. Norton allegedly told police that Sutton and White owed money to a man who had given them drugs. Norton allegedly stated that she had left the scene but later returned to get her jacket and went back to a different apartment. She alleged that she heard noises from the hallway and later, silence.

reportedly stated that she left the building and walked to Cumberland Farms where she met up with Sutton and White.

On Feb. 22, police charged with criminal liability for conduct of another, a felony charge, and she was eventually found and arrested on May 7.
