Concord Police Investigating Mailbox Thefts

The incidents occurred in East and West Concord during the last 24 hours.

Investigators inside the Concord Police Department are asking for the public’s help in solving a case about who might have been involved in a rash of mailbox thefts around the city during the last 24 hours.

According to a Concord Regional Crimeline alert, between the evening of Dec. 23, and this morning (Dec. 24), mail was removed from more than 100 mailboxes in several East Concord neighborhoods and one West Concord neighborhood.

“In some cases, the entire mailbox was taken, while in others individual pieces of mail were removed,” Lt. John Thomas, a watch commander with the department, stated in the alert.

The following locations reported mail thefts: Mountain Road, Groton Drive, Bainbridge Drive, Max Lane, Pekoe Drive, Shaker Road, Oakmont Drive, Country Club Lane, Hayward Brook, Farmwood Road, Freedom Acres Drive, Pine Crest Circle, Sanborn Road, Checkerberry Lane, and Thackeray Road.
