Boston Man Drowns in NH's Lake Winnipesaukee

Oscar Hernandez Gonalez was 27.

The Marine Patrol of the New Hampshire State Police has identified the name of the man who drowned at Ellacoya State Park on Lake Winnipesaukee in Gilford, NH, on July 14.

According to a press statement, Oscar Hernandez Gonalez, 27, of East Boston, drowned at a little before 5 p.m. on the at the park.

State Police were sent to the park after a 911 caller reported lifeguards at the scene performing CPR on an unresponsive man. The victim was swimming in about seven feet of water, approximately 30 feet from the swim line, according to police.

Gilford Police and Gilford Fire and Rescue teams also assisted Marine Patrol at the scene with EMTs transporting Gonalez to Lakes Region General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

An autopsy has been scheduled and the incident remains under investigation, according to Sgt. Dirth of the New Hampshire State Police.
