Nikolas Carr, 18, a homeless man formerly located in Epsom, was arrested at 10:27 p.m. on Oct. 19, 2013, and charged with criminal threatening and theft by extortion. An officer was called to the Target on D’Amante Drive to speak with an employee about a potential theft of a vehicle. At the same time, Epsom Police had stopped the vehicle in question in that community. The employee alleged that her ex, Carr, had stolen her car. The two dated for about four years, she told the officer, but broke up earlier in the month and she started dating one of his friends. The two still saw each other since they have a child together, she said. The woman alleged that the two had been fighting about a 1996 Volkswagen she owned but both had used. The day before, the two had gotten together and seen their daughter together and she brought Carr back to Concord. He allegedly asked to be taken to an area near some sand pits she didn’t recognize. At that time, she said, Carr allegedly “turned crazy” and “took out a knife and held it to his neck.” Carr allegedly demanded that she write out a bill of sale to him for the car so he could have it. The woman told the officer she agreed, writing out a fake bill of sale “to calm Carr down.” The woman presented text messages to the officer, allegedly from Carr’s phone number where he allegedly threatened to shoot her new boyfriend. The officer spoke to Carr who reported that the two had broken up as well as text messages sent between the two. According to the report, Carr said the bill of sale was legitimate and he had dropped her off at her new boyfriend’s house the previous day. He denied having a knife or trying to harm himself. However, when the officer asked to eye Carr’s neck, he alleged seeing “a couple of thin streaks, consistent with small past tense knife cuts.” Carr allegedly denied threatening the woman but reportedly admitted to texting the threat against the new boyfriend.
