Alleged Drug Dealer Arrested

Concord Police allege that Amy Campbell sold Oxycodone, Percocet to undercover officer.

A local woman is facing felony charges after allegedly selling drugs to an undercover police officer earlier this year.

Amy J. Campbell, 36, a homeless woman now located in Concord, was arrested at 4:23 p.m. on Oct. 1, and charged with three felony counts of sale of controlled drugs and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child/incompetent.

According to court documents, an undercover police officer was assigned to investigate alleged drug dealing by a woman named Amy on Jan. 22.

The officer called the woman, later identified as Campbell, and told her he was looking to buy Percocet. Campbell allegedly told the officer she had two and they were $35 a pill. The officer agreed to purchase them and met with Campbell at the Burger King on Loudon Road later on that day.

Campbell pulled up in a Ford Fusion (she was 15 minutes late), with two children in her car, the officer reported. The officer reportedly handed $70, and she allegedly handed the officer a clear plastic wrapper of a cigarette pack. Inside the plastic were two pills that were later identified in a pill book as Percocet. The officer told Campbell to text him if she ever had more pills.

Campbell, the officer reported, then went back to dealing with her kids and decided to take them into Burger King to eat.

The officer then did a bit of investigative work and found out that the Ford belonged to her mother, and that there had been a call to service by the mother about her daughters, including Campbell, back in 2007 while they all lived in Concord. The officer also received a DMV photo of Campbell, to confirm it was her.

On Jan. 30, the officer texted Campbell again and asked her if she had more pills. She allegedly texted back and said she did, and they agreed to meet again at Burger King. The officer and a county attorney applied for and received one party authorization to record phone calls and meetings between Campbell, the officer, and anyone else who happened to be around, for a period of about seven hours.

At a little past 5 p.m., Campbell reportedly pulled up next to the officer, again in the Burger King parking lot on Loudon Road. The officer got into the passenger seat of Campbell’s vehicle, pulled out $105, and Campbell allegedly handed him three blue pills, later confirmed to be Oxycodone Hydrochloride.

A little less than two weeks later, on Feb. 12, the officer contacted Campbell again and she allegedly told him that she had four pills. The officer agreed to purchase three of the pills and they agreed to meet at the Burger King again.

At a little before 5 p.m., the officer pulled up and texted Campbell that he was there and she said she would be right out. Campbell walked up to the car and allegedly handed a prescription pill container with the three pills in it. The officer then handed her $105, according to the report. They chatted for a bit and then she went back inside the restaurant. The officer later confirmed from a pill book that the pills were Oxycodone Hydrochloride.

No other information was available about the case in court documents.

Campbell turned herself in to police and was held on $30,000 cash bail. She was arraigned on Oct. 2.
