Woman's Club of Concord - A bright light in our community!

The Woman's Club of Concord is headquartered in one of the most beautiful buildings on Pleasant Street.  The exquisite Chamberlin House, located at 44 Pleasant, is a worthy location for this organization that has been playing an intricate role in our Community since the 1800's and there are many misperceptions about what the Woman's Club actually does.

If you visit their website, you can read the fascinating history of the organization and, I am sure, develop a genuine appreciation for their tireless efforts in helping others.

You can also find out how to become a member and how to support some of the many activities and events in which they are involved. You'll be surprised.

Recently they had their first Pub Crawl and later this week, they'll be a very visible presence at Concord's beloved Market Days. You can stop at their booth and find out more about them while admiring the exquisite hand-decorated parasols that they'll have available for sale. All monies raised go directly toward maintaining and restoring the historic Chamberlin House as a part of our city's landscape.

Mia McGhee, the inexhaustible President of the Woman's Club made a return visit to my WKXL radio show, "Downtown Dialogues". In between laughs, we talked about her ongoing efforts, together with the officers and members, to continue creating awareness of the organization and to also continue the fine work they do in Concord.  Recently they awarded two scholarships to local area students and you can find out how to apply for those scholarships on their website.

Check out my show with Mia, who I plan to invite back again soon.
