Scandal

Why isn't the IRS scandal being reported on the Patch? Is the Patch circling the wagons like most of the major networks and liberal newspapers to protect the White House? If the current administration was Republican, this scandal would be top news and there would be a call for impeachment from all of the media! This only proves that objective reporting is dead in this country!

Thanks for the note Douglas. Here at Concord Patch, our primary focus is on local news, with some political news, and regional, and statewide posts. While there are some national posts put up at our corporate office, most staffers aren't putting time into the national stories that are covered by other media outlets. It has nothing to do with the political party affiliation of the president, the Senate, or the Congress.

Don't get me wrong Tony, I appreciate the reporting that the Patch and you do at the local level. But there is a local news item that is connected with the IRS Scandal that should be brought to the attention of N.H citizens. Senator Shaheen along with a number of other Democratic Senators sent a letter to the IRS instructing them to harass and silent Conservative groups that had Tea partly leanings. New Hampshire needs to know that it's senator was involved in using a federal agency as a weapon against her political foes.

Hi Doug, any local Tea Party groups that haven't been cleared of their nonprofit status or believe that they've been targeted by anyone should contact me directly and I'll do my best to look into it. Last year, the most prominent Tea Party group in New Hampshire said it wasn't impacted by the situation: http://bedford-nh.patch.com/groups/politics-and-elections/p/nhtpc-founder-irs-didn-t-target-legitimate-tea-party-groups
