Tomas Eric Cox

A memorial service will be held at the Bow Mills United Methodist Church at a future date.

Editor's Note: This obituary was submitted by a family member of Tomas Cox, who passed away yesterday in Concord. 

Tomas Eric Cox, 47, passed away on Aug. 6, 2013. He was born June 5, 1966, and was predeceased by his mother, Corliss French, in 2011, and his father, Ronald Cox, in 1971. He was also predeceased by his dog, Rascal, who he loved like a brother.

Tom loved his mother very much and never got over his loss of her. He cherished the bond they had together. He thought of her every day. They are now together, as well as his dad that he lost as a toddler. Surprisingly, he remembered details about him throughout his life.

Tom leaves his sisters, Ronda Clough and Lyn Hemeon, both of Concord, his stepfather, Harry French of Concord, who was his father most of his life and who he loved, as well as nieces, grandnieces and his best friend Timmy, who was his four legged nephew.

Tom and Timmy spent many days lying on the bed watching television. Tom would say Timmy made bad days better. Timmy is going to miss his buddy.

Tom loved his job at Toy ‘R Us and would say it was the most fun and best job he ever had. He spoke fondly of the store's employees and had hoped to work there for a long time. He especially enjoyed the late night work at Christmastime.

Tom had expressed, in the past, that when his life on Earth was over, that he be cremated and have his ashes scattered at the beach. He had cherished memories of being at the beach with his mom and stepfather.

At a later date, a memorial service for Tom will be held at Bow Mills United Methodist in Bow. The date and time is unknown at this time. The date will be announced later. All family and friends will be welcomed.
