N.H. House Passes Paycheck Fairness Act

NH Citizens Alliance applauds the work of the New Hampshire House today in voting ‘Ought to Pass’ on SB 207—a bill seeking to ensure equal pay for equal work. Executive Director Kary Jencks released the following statement:

“Today the New Hampshire House recognized that ensuring equal pay for equal work is important to protecting New Hampshire working families. A woman’s earnings, despite her heritage, marital status, or age are crucial to family support and individual economic security. When this bill makes it to the Governor’s desk the outcome could be much deserved increased earnings for thousands of Granite State women and a reduction in poverty rates in New Hampshire.

Congratulations to all the women and men who worked tirelessly on SB 207, and thank you to the New Hampshire legislature for supporting paycheck fairness. This is a true victory for our state.”
