“Mud, Music & Main Street” Block Party Event on Friday July 26th in Downtown Berlin to Kick off 4th Annual ATV Festival Weekend

Berlin, New Hampshire— Downtown Berlin will be hosting its first “Mud, Music & Main Street” downtown block party to kick off the 4th annual ATV Festival weekend with ATV riders taking over the streets in downtown Berlin on Friday night July 26th from 4 to 9 p.m.  The downtown streets will be closed to regular vehicle traffic.

“The fun downtown begins when the action at Jericho Mountain State Park ends for the day! There will be live music courtesy of the band Straightaway, and visitors can enjoy great food, cold beverages at the beer tent, and special offers at the downtown shops and businesses, which are staying open throughout the event,” says Sylvia Poulin, Chair of the Berlin Main Street program, which is co-hosting the event, along with the Androscoggin Chamber of Commerce.  “The ATV Festival is such a great weekend event, bringing thousands of people from all over the Northeast, and we wanted to provide a fun reason to head downtown before and after the Festival gets underway.  Riding in on your ATV is an added bonus -- it’s going to be lots of muddy fun on Main Street!”

The ATV Festival and new block party got a boost this year with a grant from Citizens Bank Foundation’s Growing Communities initiative, designed to help foster neighborhood revitalization and economic development activities across New Hampshire.

“This is another incredibly fun North Country tradition – who doesn’t love messing around in the mud!” said Pam Sullivan, marketing coordinator for New Hampshire Grand, the official visitor information source for the Great North Woods and the Northern White Mountains and a co-promoter of the Mud, Music and Main Street event. “ATV riders love northern New Hampshire, for the Festival and the scenic trails, and especially now that the Ride the Wilds Coos County interconnected trail system has opened, making traversing the remote areas of the Grand North even more enjoyable.”

New Hampshire Grand is helping to promote the event along with the Androscoggin Valley ATV Club, Androscoggin Valley Chamber of Commerce, NH State Parks and Recreation, and Citizens Bank.

“By supporting this event, we aim to promote small businesses in downtown Berlin, generate retail traffic, and position Berlin as a destination location,” said Kathleen Reardon, senior vice president and director of public affairs for Citizens Bank New Hampshire. “Mud, Music and Main Street is a great way to tap in to the visitors already coming to Berlin for the ATV Festival, and encourage them to come and support downtown businesses.”
