Ruby Tuesday Waitress Picks Up Tab for National Guardsmen

Sarah Hoidahl says it's the least she could do for soldiers who weren't being paid during the government shutdown.

A local waitress at Ruby Tuesday on Loudon Road in Concord picked up the tab for two National Guardsmen at the restaurant recently, in an effort to do something nice for someone else, and the act has gone viral online.

WMUR-TV interviewed Sarah Hoidahl, the waitress and single mom, who stated that after hearing the soldiers talk about the government shutdown and being furloughed, she thought it would be nice to pick up their lunch tab. She left a note thanking them too, for their service.

The guardsmen thanked her and later, the New Hampshire National Guard posted a picture of the note and Hoidahl on its Facebook site

Hoidahl said she hopes that that the small act of picking up a $30 tab inspires others to offer similar acts of kindness.
