TEDxManhattan "Changing the Way We Eat" Viewing Party

TEDxManhattan "Changing the Way We Eat"

On Saturday, March 1st from 10:30am-6:30pm EST the much
anticipated TEDxManhattan “Changing the Way We Eat” will once again take place
in New York City. Join New England College Concord for a revolutionary live
viewing party, free of charge, featuring a brilliant line-up of experts who
will explore the state of the food system and progress toward sustainability in
eating and farming.

The independently organized event will gather speakers and
audience members from diverse backgrounds to create new synergies, connections,
and collaborations across disciplines. The goal of the event is to help break
the food movement out of its bubble and introduce the TED/TEDx audience and
viewers across the country to the innovative work being done to elevate the
food system to one that is more equitable, healthier, and sustainable for all.

During breaks in the webcast, a series of local guest
speakers will be joining us. While viewers enjoy a complimentary lunch, a panel
discussion including three local experts will take place from 12:40 – 1:30 pm.
Panelists include Ray Connor, owner
of Evandale Farm in Pittsfield, NH and Beginner Farmer Program Coordinator for
NOFA-NH; Ryan Ferdinand, owner of
Phoenix Hill Farm in Boscowen, NH and permaculture designer; and Roger Noonan, owner of Middle Branch
Farm in New Boston, NH and President of New England Farmers Union. In the
afternoon, Stacey Purslow will speak
about her work as Program Coordinator for the NH Farm to School Program, from
3:45 to 4:15 pm. As guests are treated to dinner, Anthony Munene, Farm Production Specialist for the New American
Sustainable Agriculture Project, will speak about his work with immigrant and
refugee farmers in New Hampshire, from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. Attendees are
encouraged to stay and enjoy local foods and wine, network, and mingle until
8:30 pm.
