CONCORD, NH (March 11, 2013) — Kimball-Jenkins Estate & School of Art is teaming up with some of NH's most acclaimed interior designers and stylists to offer a five-part series exploring creative design solutions that will transform a home into a personal work of art. This is a five-part series from 6 to 8 pm, each session ending in the Kimball-Jenkins Mansion with hands-on examples, a chance to talk with the featured designer, and a light cocktail reception.

The series begins April 10 and concludes on May 15 with a program by nationally renowned designer and publisher Matthew Mead whose photographs and decorating ideas have appeared in numerous books and magazines, notably Better Homes and Gardens and his own Holiday with Matthew Mead.

"After such a long snowy winter, this series will be a perfect welcome to spring," says Ryan Linehan, director of the Kimball-Jenkins School of Art. Linehan says that the mission of the estate has always been to promote the arts and culture as a part of life and as a means of building community connections. "This event is a perfect example of what Carolyn Jenkins had in mind when she endowed the region with her beautiful and inspiring home," says Linehan.

The Schedule for the series is as follows:

April 10th - Decorate a Room Around Your Favorite Piece of Artwork: Shawna Taylor, Taylored Interiors will show how to dissect a piece of artwork to identify colors, texture, and style to create a color palette and design an entire room.

April 17th - Contemporary Art in a Traditional Home: How to Make it Work: Sarah Chaffee, McGowan Fine Arts will talk about creating a ‘collected’ room, one that appears to have developed over time by mixing the old and the new.

May 1st - Mixing Colors and Patterns Like a Pro: Donna Boerner, DB Interiors will teach tips and tricks to match colors and patterns to create a fabulous designer look.

May 8th - Liven Up Your Space with a New Way of Looking at Art: June Trisciani, J. Ellen Designs will reveal how a favorite painting, photo or sculptural piece  can liven up a living space and tell a story about the owners.

May 15th - Backyard Style: Matthew Mead, known for styling beautiful spaces using vintage and recycled flea market finds, nature's offerings and what is at hand, shows how to take interior decorating ideas and apply them to an outdoor living space
