Community Corner

3rd Annual Singing Yard Sale

Concord Community Music School is excited to announce the 3rd Annual Singing Yard Sale, to be held on Saturday, April 26th from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.  Proceeds from the sale will support scholarships for Songweavers, a spirited 120 woman a cappella chorus.  Based on the belief that everyone can sing, members learn songs by rote, in the African-American tradition; music-reading skills are not a prerequisite.  The Director of the chorus is Peggo Horstmann Hodes.

The Yard Sale will be held in the Music School’s large Community Room, rain or shine.  Offerings will include antiques and collectibles, clothing, art, books, housewares, tools, small appliances, small furniture, plus much more.  Music from the chorus’ past concerts will be played during the yard sale, and the members could break into song at any time to the delight of the shoppers.  CDs of their music will also be for sale as well as home baked goods and coffee.

There will be plenty of free parking on Fayette St.(off South St.) and in the Music School’s parking lot.

Donations for the sale will be gratefully accepted.  Please call Leslie Winship at 603-398-5678.
