John McCain Boosts Scott Brown in N.H. Senate Campaign

Republican U.S. Sen. John McCain — whose straight-talking independent streak won over Granite State voters during his two presidential bids — said yesterday he’d endorse Scott Brown’s New Hampshire Senate campaign even before voters weigh in on the GOP Senate primary.

“He’s a great friend,” said McCain after an hourlong forum at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. The Arizona Republican added he would “absolutely” support the former Bay State senator even though Brown faces three other challengers in the Sept. 9 Senate primary.
