Garcia Gets Boost from She-PAC

Group purports to support conservative women candidates; Salem representative says she's "honored" to get the nod.

A political action committee focused on electing conservative women, many of them minorities, to the House and Senate, has endorsed state Rep. Marilinda Garcia, R-Salem, in the Republican primary for the 2nd Congressional District.

She-PAC endorsed Garcia on May 11. The group focuses on electing “strong, Conservative women who fight for freedom and constitutional principles,” and has been raising money to combat what it calls “especially cruel treatment” that conservative women receive at the hands of Democrats and their supporters, like HBO comedian Bill Maher, who is shown on one of the group’s videos repeatedly referring to conservative women by a derogatory reference of a female body part.

Garcia said she was “thankful” for the endorsement.

“I am a firm believer in She-PAC’s mission to support, honor, and elect conservative women across America,” she said. “We need a new generation of reform-minded conservative women to challenge the liberal record of legislators like Nancy Pelosi and Ann Kuster and their binge spending, record deficits, job-killing policies and top-down, Washington-oriented policies. I am honored that She-PAC supports the vision of our campaign and our message of opportunity for all.”
