The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc., parent company of Bon-Ton, Bergner’s, Boston Store, Carson’s, Elder-Beerman, Herberger’s and Younkers department stores, raised $57,288 for Soles4Souls Inc. an international not-for-profit social enterprise that advances the fight against poverty through the distribution of shoes and clothing.
Bon-Ton has donated a total of $182,500 since 2010.
“We are thrilled by the support of our customers and to have the opportunity to be a part of such a great cause for another year,” said Brendan Hoffman, President and CEO of The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc.
On March 22, Bon-Ton donated $1 to Soles4Souls for every pair of shoes that was sold in select stores for a total contribution of $15,000, helping with the mission of fighting poverty around the world.
From April 9 to April 15, customers received a 30% off coupon valid in the shoe department for every $3 donation. Since its launch in 2007, Soles4Souls has distributed shoes and clothing to people in need, both in the U.S. and overseas, and helped create self-sustaining jobs in countries that lack jobs that generate personal income.
