2-Alarm Fire in Concord

Firefighters called to North State Street on Aug. 9.

Firefighters responded to a 2-alarm fire on North State Street on Friday night.
The blaze was reported at around 10:30 p.m. at 358 N. State St., according to emergency radio communications.
Brian Blackden from 1st Responder News, who took these photos, reported that upon arrival, smoke was coming out of the roof of the structure. The fire was problematic because it was trapped in eaves and walls on the second floor. A second alarm was then struck and mutual aid was called in to assist and cover the city while Concord Fire worked to put the building fire out.
Initial reports stated that a resident had put out a porch fire. About two hours later, the fire crews determined it to be extinguished and they left the scene.
In a statement, Dan Andrus, chief of the Concord Fire Department, said crews from Allenstown, Boscawen, Bow, Chichester, Epsom, Hooksett, Loudon, Manchester, and Pembroke all responded to assist.
The fire was determined to be traveling to the attic through the outer walls.
"Firefighters quickly controlled the blaze by opening the roof, ventilating the structure, and extinguishing the fire in the walls and other concealed spaces," he said.
There were no injuries, Andrus noted.
