Many recognized for community service in 2012.

On Oct. 27, at the Ashworth by the Sea on Hampton Beach, the New Hampshire State Grange held its convention and in the evening, recognized a number of residents from across the state for community service recognition awards including many focused on public service.

The following Granite Staters won awards:

  • Police Officer: Sgt. John McGregor, Hudson Police Department
  • Firefighter: Dave Blatchford, Durham Fire Department
  • Teacher: Sylvia Holden, Woodsville High School
  • Veteran, Retired: Paul Lloyd, Concord
  • Veteran-Active Duty: Kenneth Georgevits, Concord
  • Correctional Officer: Matthew Jordan, Rockingham County House of Corrections
  • Public Service Award: David A. Berry Jr. Belknap County House of Corrections
  • Citizen: Officer Joseph Wright, Concord Police Department
  • Citizen: Jim & Beth Anne Dube, Aurora
  • New member of the Year: Tom Cusano
  • Media, Newspaper: Tony Schinella, Concord NH Patch
  • Television: Adam Williams, WHDH-TV, Boston
  • Lifetime Achievement: Tom Griffiths, WMUR-TV, Manchester
  • NH State Police
  • Fish & Game Officer: Mark T. Hensel
  • Youth Award (Posthumous Award): Michael Guglielmo for his son Giovanni Guglielmo
  • Special Recognition to state Rep. Al Baldasaro, R-Londonderry
  • Gov. John Lynch and First Lady Dr. Susan Lynch
  • NH AG Drug Task Force
