VIDEO: Who is Hardy Macia?

Canterbury software developer runs for Congress.

If you’ve never heard of Hardy Macia before, you will in the next bunch of weeks before the November election.

Macia is running for Congress as a Libertarian and recently gained ballot access with the rest of the party when they submitted more than 15,000 certified signatures

Macia, a software developer from Canterbury, said he was running to work on balancing the budget, reforming the tax code, which he called “corrupt,” and replacing it with a fair tax, essentially a national sales tax, as well as repealing the Patriot Act and ending wiretapping against American citizens. He also supports bringing the troops home from Afghanistan, Iraq, and other locations around the world.

“We need to pull out of the wars,” he said, “we can’t afford them and they’re unnecessary to protect our national interests.”

Macia noted that the national debt had doubled since U.S. Rep. Charles Bass came into office and he had a role in that debt by voting to increase the debt ceiling.
