VIDEO: The Freedom to Clean

Before Concord's pro-marijuana rally, fans of FreeConcord.org clean up at the Statehouse.

Just before the 420 at 4:20 on 4-20 pro-legalization of marijuana rally at the Statehouse on April 20, former Republican candidate for state representative , and a number of other activists, fanned out across the plaza grounds picking up litter.

Ean, who is mostly known around the city for his messages written in chalk advocating more free speech and the release of whistleblowers who he believes have wrongfully been imprisoned, said the pick up was about showing responsibility and making the plaza look clean.

With gloves on their hands and bags in tow, they fanned around the Statehouse, picking up cigarette butts, paper, and other items on the ground. Ean put together a similar event last year which helped to spruce up the plaza a bit before the festivities began.
