VIDEO: Hassan Questioned About Casino Gambling Lobbying

Is there inappropriate lobbying going on in NH?

During a press availability after the Pet Save event at the Statehouse on March 13, Gov. Maggie Hassan, D-Exeter, was questioned about the vote on the non-binding referendum at Salem Town Meeting on March 12, for a casino at the Rockingham Park facility, and whether or not there has been "inappropriate lobbying" by the New Hampshire Lottery commissioner.

Casino gambling is a major piece of the governor’s revenue picture for the fiscal 2014-2015 budget.

Over a period of about 45 seconds, Josh Rogers of NHPR continued to ask Hassan to comment but she refused to answer the question directly. Later though, Hassan stated that she had not talked to the commissioner in a while but was answering questions she received from legislators.
