State Police Investigating I-93 Motorcycle Crash

Goffstown man "being investigated" for DWI, faces other charges; Manchester woman also hurt.

Charges are being filed against a Goffstown man after a motorcycle accident injured him and a passenger on on July 4.

are reporting that Thomas W. Van Uden, 47, of Goffstown, was charged with reckless conduct and disobeying an officer. Police stated in an alert that he is also “being investigated” for aggravated driving while intoxicated.

While driving up , at around 4:30 p.m. on July 4, Van Uden was allegedly clocked by police radar going 143 miles per hour while passing a trooper. Sometime after passing the trooper, heading northbound into Sanbornton, Van Uden’s motorcycle rear-ended a car.

Van Uden was transported to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon with what police are calling “serious injuries.” A woman from Manchester, who was a passenger on the motorcycle, was also injured and transported to Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth.

The car sustained damage but the driver was not injured.

State Police investigators are asking for witnesses who may have more information before the accident to call Trooper Mark Magoon at Troop D in Concord at 603-271-3333.
