Paul, Perry, and Planning This Week

Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul campaigns in Concord on Wednesday and Thursday.

Here's a look at the week ahead:

1. MIXED WEATHER THIS WEEK. Forecasters are predicting spotty weather this week. Today, it will be partly cloudy for most of the day with a chance of showers in the late afternoon. The rain is expected to continue into Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday will probably be the best day of the week - sunny skies and in the 80s. Thursday also looks good but showers and T-storms are expected to return in time for the weekend.

2. MUNICIPAL MEETINGS. There is literally a plethora of municipal meetings this week. The Downtown Parking Committee meets at 4:30 p.m. on Monday in the 2nd Floor Conference Room of 41 Green St. The Solid Waste Advisory Committee will have updates on a single stream facility at at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday at COMF, 311 N. State St. Task Force III, the group that is looking at what to do with the Concord School District buildings after the three elementary school projects are finished, meets at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the rear of 38 Liberty St. office. The Concord School District Capital Facilities board meets at 5:30 p.m. in the same location. The Planning Board will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. This, that, and the other thing and will be discussed. The Fiscal Policy Advisory Committee meets at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday in the 2nd Floor Conference Room, while the TPAC Pedestrian Advisory Committee meets at 6 p.m. in the same location. A proposed joint Concord City Council/School Board meeting for Friday morning has been cancelled.

3. WHAT IS HUMAN WORTH? is presenting a documentary and discussion at 7 p.m. on Monday,"Sex + Money: A National Search for Human Worth." The film features photojournalists who traveled across the country analyzing the problem of sexually exploited children. The photojournalist's RV will be parked outside of the theatre all day on Monday. A panel discussion with state officials will follow.

4. PRESIDENTIAL POLITICS. U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, will be stumping in Concord on Wednesday and Thursday. He'll be opening up his state office in Concord at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, at 128D Hall St. and then participating in a joint roundtable sponsored by the New Hampshire House Business Coalition and the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce at 8 a.m. on Thursday at the Kimball Jenkins Estate. He'll meet with real estate brokers at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, at 25 Hall St. Texas Gov. Rick Perry will also be campaigning in Concord, according to press reports, but specific information was not available before The Week Ahead was posted online.

5. MUSIC THIS WEEK. The State Street Combo play at Hermanos on Sunday and Monday night. Mike Walsh plays Hermanos on Tuesday night. Jared Steer plays Wednesday night. Joe Gattuso plays on Thursday night. Presidential Oaks has another Summer Concerts on the Lawn on Tuesday night. And Mark Broder plays at the Makris Lobster and Steak House. Butter play on Friday.
