Shaheen Named Obama Campaign Co-Chair

U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-NH, joins presidential campaign battle.

U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-NH, is joining President Obama's re-election campaign as a national co-chair.

Shaheen, on a team of 35 co-chairs, will advise the campaign on key issues and work to engage and mobilize voters nationwide, not just in swing-state New Hampshire, according to the Obama for America campaign.

"President Obama has the right vision for this country," Shaheen said in the OFA announcement. "I am proud to support a campaign that embraces investment in America's future and support a leader in innovation, education, and energy."

Shaheen has experience in this department. She served as national chair for the Kerry-Edwards presidential campaign in 2004. Her resume includes New Hampshire campaign chairwoman for Carter-Mondale (1973-76), and a high-profile role in Gary Hart's New Hampshire campaign (1979-80).

Her husband, Bill Shaheen, was co-chairman of Hillary Rodham Clinton's presidential campaign, before resigning and apologizing in 2007 for making a comment about Barack Obama's past drug use being fodder for GOP attacks. Nevertheless, the Shaheen popularity in the state contributed to Clinton winning the 2008 New Hampshire Primary.

Shaheen served in the state Senate from 1990 to 1996, and as New Hampshire governor from 1997 to 2003. After losing a shot at the U.S. Senate to Republican John E. Sununu in 2002, she became a director of the Kennedy School of Government's Institute of Politics. She returned to the campaign trail and, in 2008, defeated Sununu to win her current seat in the U.S. Senate.

The OFA announcement indicates the national co-chairs will promote the president's record on rebuilding the economy after the recession, support for the middle class, the Affordable Care Act, investments in education, expanding manufacturing, and increasing energy independence.

Jim Messina, campaign manager, said the national co-chairs would be assets as they build "the biggest grassroots campaign in history."

LOL "Communist democrats"? ....."A bankrupt socialist nanny state run by govt bureaucrats and enforced by union thugs" Son, you should not use such
big words, since you clearly don't know what they mean. You also should
quit trying to quote Sean Hannity and Glen beck. It's not becoming!

Do you ever have anything original to say?

Dear Jeanne:

Do you have your bunker picked out for the day on which your print and spend money policies ultimately kill our dollar? Alternatively, are you counting on the Fed being able to keep the plates spinning until after you retire? Which is it, bunker now or bunker later?

Just so you all know, the above letter to someone whom I deem to be a traitor to her people is applicable to nearly all the senators and house members currently in Congress. If one votes for a debt limit increase, one is voting that our dollar should die. Maybe not today, and maybe not tomorrow. The Federal Reserve has to buy nearly half of our issued debt--because no sane buyers will take it at the artificially low rates we offer. Go to a market rate for our debt, and our debt will explode. Hide the facts and whistle, and Congress will need bunkers when the fallout hits the rest of us.

It does not matter really what the democrats have morphed into at all. Failure is failure. They have absolutely no clue what to do and have to declare war on every segment of the voting public to get elected. It won't work.

If I were named 'co-chair' of anything, I'd be delighted at the honor.
.
But if I were named THIRTY-FIFTH co-chair of anything, I'd NEVER mention it again. I'd bury my head in shame at being involved in the scam.
.
But Shaheen, who has an F- rating on dealing with illegal immigration, and walks in lock-step with Obama's shadow on EVERY issue, thinks she's next in line for coronation.
.
I've written to this woman on many occasions and have always gotten the same response. We need "COMPREHENSIVE IMMIGRATION REFORM". That means we allow all of the illegals to stay on and keep our jobs, in case you've not been paying attention!

If you're buying into that baloney, then A) vote for her and her leader Obama, and B) Plan on being out of work soon and unable to find one that will support your family in the U.S.

I cannot recall one time where Democrat Senator Shaheen has voted on a major issue the way her constituents wanted. You just cannot trust Liberals or Progressives.

Sen Shaheen Has proven to me that she is a person of integrity who truly cares about the individual. She did so as governor and I was honored to vote for her to be my voice in Washington. Very recently, when I was being stonewalled by the pettiness of the bureaucracy run-a-round, I called her office and her office reassured me, was instrumental in procuring a prompt resolution and conitnued to follow up on my case and issues until I was thoroughly satisfied. Fortunately, Presdient O'Bama shows the foresight to have the assistance of such a sincerely dedicated individual who also puts the people first before and above politics.

I like Senator Shaheen also, although it concerns me that while our state representatives are trashing the place, she's nowhere to be found. We need a strong voice to protect New Hampshire citizens, and she just hasn't done that over the last two years. I guess what I mean to say is, it's nice that she's a senator, but I think she should use her position meaningfully here at home and not just in Washington. It makes her look like a career politician and not necessarily the people's champion, which is what she used to be described as.
