No Overnight Parking in Concord

Ban in effect until Friday morning so the city can clean up.

The city of Concord has extended its on-street parking ban through Friday, according to Phil Bilodeau, the deputy director of the General Services Department.

The parking ban was issued Wednesday night and extended for Thursday, Bilodeau said.

Currently, there are 26 trucks plowing the streets of the city on multiple shifts. They will be working through the evening and into the morning, clearing snow from the city’s roadways during and through the end of the storm, according to to Bilodeau. Sidewalk crews are also clearing areas in Downtown Concord this afternoon.

The winter parking ban, when issued, runs from midnight to 7 a.m. Residents who need to park on the street should move their vehicles to a city garage. If you’re towed during the winter parking ban, a $100 ticket will be issued, along with towing fees, according to the city manager’s newsletter.

Residents have a number of ways to find out about parking bans and other information: The city of Concord has a Facebook site dedicated to information about parking. Information is also streaming on the city’s website. Concord TV also offers notices to viewers. Readers can also signup for parking ban notifications via email parkingban-join@lists.concordnh.gov.
