NH Primary Filing Period Closes

Forty-four candidates file to run for president in New Hampshire.

The filing period is now closed and 44 candidates from 26 states have put their names on the ballot to run in the First-in-the-Nation New Hampshire primary.

According to the Secretary of State’s Office, at 44 candidates, it’s the highest number of candidates running since 1992, when 61 people ran. Thirty Republicans have placed their names on the ballot, the most since 1992 when 25 were on the ballot, and more than any other election in the history of the primary.
