IMAGES: Wicked FIT Runners Raise Thousands for Charity

In the early morning fog on Oct. 26, nearly 300 runners and walkers took part in a Wicked FIT Run, a 5K road race to benefit Families in Transition, at Rollins Park in the South End.

The race was the first of its kind, with runners dressing up in their favorite Halloween costumes.

Michele Talwani, the director of economic development and marketing for Families in Transition, said the organization hoped to raise about $7,500 from the event and solidify the organization in the community.

Money raised at the race will go towards funding the organizations programs and services to assist homeless families in Concord and Manchester. More than 20 prizes were given out to the runners for best costume and best race time.
