1. The muggies return. Weather forecasters are calling for mostly sunny skies today with highs in the 80s, and a return to muggy conditions during the next few days. There could be a shower in the later afternoon or early evening.

2. Softball tryouts. The NH Lightning ASA Softball Club is holding tryouts at 6 p.m. at Martin Field on Iron Works Road. Tryouts will also be held next week. Visit nhlightning.com for more information.

3. Big band jazz. The Lakes Region Big Band will be playing at EJ’s on Main at 6:30 p.m. Enjoy dinner and dancing, or just sit and listen.

4. Meet Betsy Woodman. New Hampshire author Betsy Woodman will be speaking and signing copies of her new book, “Jana Bibi’s Excellent Fortunes,” at 7 p.m. at Gibson’s Bookstore.

5. Other stuff. The Children’s Place and Parents’ Education Center holds a babies and parents event at 9:30 a.m. The Green Street Community Center has open gym for adults at noon and 8 p.m. Horseshoe Pond Place has Internet instruction classes at 1 p.m. You’re Fired holds a ladies night at 5 p.m. A vet to vet peer to peer support group meets at 5:30 p.m. at the First Congregational Church.
